Autumn 2015
You Don't Want To Miss The Exciting Programming Our District Has Planned
!
From the President

A Special Gift

In recent weeks, Central District has been the recipient of a very special gift. Anshe Hesed Sisterhood in Erie, PA, once an affiliate of WRJ and Central District, is no more, and they have closed their Judaica shop as well. Not knowing just what to do with the several large boxes of Judaica, they have offered to donate the collection to Central District, with the understanding that the proceeds from the sale of the items will be used in any number of ways to strengthen Central District. A task force has been established to address this very special acquisition, and I have written Anshe Hesed President Jackie Breakstone a thank you note on behalf of Central District. Stay tuned for details on how we can all purchase this wonderful Judaica and in doing so, support Central District.

WRJ Creates Partnership with Chai Mitzvah Project for Exciting New Programming
WRJ is partnering with Chai Mitzvah  to help build and deepen Jewish connections within your sisterhood, congregation and community.  This program is easy to implement, and has an established curriculum using facilitator guides and resources from Chai Mitzvah educators. The program is also adaptable to the needs of and interests of your community with relevant, text based topics of study.
There are many reasons to become a Chai Mitzvah.  This program encourages members to live a Jewish life in a meaningful way while creating new and lasting bonds among members of the sisterhood and congregation.  This program engages the community through learning and volunteering. There are additional materials and webinars specifically for WRJ-affiliated groups.
It is easy to become a Chai Mitzvah.  An ideal group would consist of 10-12 interested and dedicated members, but there is no requirement.  Appoint a designated Chai Mitvah liason to register your group on the Chai Mitzvah websitehttps://www.chaimitzvah.org/organization_registration_form.   The cost is $72 for group registration and $25 per person per year.  WRJ-affiliated groups can register now with a special 10% discount: $65 per group (plus $25 per person per year).
