Welcome to the Women of Reform Judaism Central District website. We hope that you find both information and inspiration to help you and your sisterhood flourish and stay
connected. Our website contains information about Central District and Women of Reform Judaism (WRJ), as well as information and resources on programming, fundraising, membership, and other sisterhood activities.
The Central District is your liaison between the WRJ and the local sisterhoods and women’s groups we serve. We also connect our sisterhoods and their members to each other. Currently our district consists of 35 sisterhoods in Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee, and West Virginia. The Central District is one of eight districts of Women of Reform Judaism in North America, Israel, and around the world.
Our two vice presidents and I, our eight area directors, and various committee chairs are available and ready to assist you. We are organized into two distinct areas or departments:
- Development and Special Projects
- Marketing and Communications
Our district leaders are here to provide direct services to our district sisterhoods and to encourage understanding and support of the programs, activities, and projects of WRJ. We serve as consultants and we have an active Speaker’s Bureau. If you would like a Central District speaker for Sisterhood Shabbat or any sisterhood program just contact the Speakers Bureau Chair and she will work with you to make this happen.
One of our goals is to bring the sisterhoods in the district into closer cooperation and association with one another to further their respective activities. We are here to help you and your sisterhood achieve your highest potential within your congregation. Stronger together, we connect you to your peers throughout our district through virtual and, hopefully someday soon, in-person events. The district has monthly Kibbitz
and Kvell zoom gatherings and bi-monthly Book Club discussions. Any woman can participate in these events. Please look for and join the Central District group on Yammer. In order to receive an invitation to join Yammer, please click here.
Please note, we will continue to update our website on a regular basis to provide you with the most current news (as well as photos) from Central District and WRJ.
On our website you will find information on the following topics:
- Central District structure and events
- Our newsletter, Isha L’Isha, published four times a year
- WRJ, Resources, and its projects
We hope that you’ll bookmark this page and visit us regularly. If you have any ideas on how to improve our website or if there is information that you would like included, contact our webmaster at: webmaster@WRJCentral.org
