Consider hosting the 2020 District Convention

Calling all Central District Sisterhoods!

As your sisterhood plans for the coming years, please consider hosting the WRJ Central District convention in the Fall of 2020!
Your sisterhood women could participate in the event so they would have the experience of meeting and learning with Jewish women from all over the WRJ Central District while gaining an understanding of the importance of affiliating with WRJ. WRJ provides a WRJ Speaker who will add much to the convention. There is learning, praying, sharing and entertainment, plus the new WRJ Central District Board is installed.

The Central District 1st Vice President and Convention Facilitator plan the agenda and the program with the District Executive Committee. The host sisterhood takes care of local arrangements: hotel, meals, hospitality room, publicity, printing, delegate registration folders, treasury, recorders, and entertainment, if needed. As Central District provides “seed” money and the registration fee will cover all costs, there is no expense to the local sisterhood. The district’s notebooks from past conventions will help guide your plans.

The planning of the Central District Convention brings your sisterhood members even closer together by working on a common project. It also provides an opportunity to bring honor to your sisterhood, welcome WRJ leaders to your community, and enable your members to attend and participate in a district convention. You may invite other sisterhoods in your area to help with Local Arrangements or host an aspect of the district convention.

Please think about hosting this event and return the application by July 1, 2018.

The location for the 2020 Central District Convention will be determined, at the latest, one month prior to the 2018 District Convention, and all applicants will be notified at that time. So talk it up! The time is now. Imagine the possibilities! Sisterhood presidents, please apply on behalf of your women’s group. You’ll be glad you did!
